Before doing meditation
Preparation before meditation :
When you sit down to meditate you need to set up your meditation posture in a way that is relaxed but upright, usually sitting on a cushion and probably cross-legged. If this is not easy you can sit kneeling or else in a chair. Then you close your eyes, relax, and tune in to how you are feeling. It is important to be sensitive to your experience because this is what you work with in meditation. It is a good idea to take some time to sit quietly before starting a meditation, to slow down and relax. Some gentle stretching can also help.

Meditation Meditation Meditation
People, especially students suffer from stress. we dont realise this fact and accept it as indispensable, some of us even ignore and try to justify it as 'Healthy stress' needed to act as a motivating factor. However, it should be checked. If not conciously then subconciously it affects our output by adversely affecting our ability to concentrate.
Usually, students are apprehensive even when we utter the word, `meditation.' They assume it to be sombre and boring. Hence, to break this mindset, we bring you this blog.meditation basically means enjoying and surrendering to the beauty of silence. something which is otherwise unthinkable in the fast and competitive world we live in.
Yoga and meditation are meant for all people of all age groups. Yoga and meditation sharpen one's memory and keeps him/her self physically and mentally fit.
some argue that why meditation when we relax our mind along with the body while we sleep at night. But that is not true, studies have shown that human mind gets trapped in so many issues it encounters during the day time that it remains puzzled even while the body relaxes. thats why we keep dreaming at nights.. the minds remains active.. not the concious but the uncouncious.
"I am currently a university student my marks first term were not as expected and I believe a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that I generally lack an ability to concentrate when doing work, unless I totally isolate myself from all possible distractions I cannot
study. Even then, my mind tends to wander. Also, I find that my memory is not the greatest."
well almost all of us face the same problem dont we? but how many of us actually go ahead and solve the problem?
The only solution lies in meditation, which has skillfully woven its way into the corporate world. The whole purpose of meditation is to make you aware of your kingdom, to make you aware of your highest potential. The corporate world is fast waking up to the concept of connecting within as the best means to meet external targets. You do not need emotional intelligence or psychometric tests to assess your potential. Just quieten the chatterbox mind. Listen to
yourself. And you have an instant antidote to all problems.
Dr Rajni Arya, director of Amity Institute of Behavioral and Allied Sciences, feels: “Few management schools have been able to strike the right balance between modern management techniques and insight from Shastras.” At Amity, they have been able to straddle the divide by
introducing certain modules in their curriculum, which are drawn from Indian scriptures and their practical applications. “It is our experience that meditation helps students de-stress, improves their concentration and focus, and helps them to be in harmony with themselves,”.
HOW TO MEDITATE
Now comes the million doller question, how to meditate?
There are various meditation techniques and different types of meditations. There are many variations. There are many things that you could do yourself to see what works best for you. There is focusing on breathing. There is focusing on all your body parts. There is mantra. There is imagination. Using your minds eye. Every day is a meditation, every living experiance is a meditation. Walking, cooking, cleaning. Everything is a state of being. I think it is better to learn one method and good at one method. It may take several weeks to notice a big improvement. Learn how to focus and meditate using the method you have now and then when you feel good and confident about the changes then try another kind. Make it a regular routine to dedicate at least 30 minutes to meditation. Increase the amount of meditation you do every week. One may also take meditation classes for better results
its wonderful..!! but allow me to elaborate on some of the things :
Focus on breathing: experience ur breathing in and out, feel how much air u take in and release out.
Focusing on all your body parts.make sure u do this at the beginning to help you relax. begin with ur feet, working ur way up your legs, making sure all ur body is relaxed.
Mantra: there are many many different types of mantras, from the famous OM, brahma, (repeating this "words" or vibrations) but you can also concentrate in something like: I love me, I am infinite with all, I am love, you must choose one, whichever sounds appropriate for you and repeat it. listening to meditation music is also helpful.
Counting:(this is my personal favorite to start) begin at 100 and begin counting backwards, imagining the numbers in front of you. As soon as a thought comes up and you forget or lose track of where you are, start all over. Do this until you are able to go all the way down to 1 or 0 without problems and without getting lost in ur mind. Once you master this technique of 100, try 500.
I know that people use candles, concentrating on the flame, the way it moves, it's colors, etc.
So basically you want to focus all of ur attention and being into a single thing, and as stated earlier focusing on daily activities, being HERE and NOW is the biggest purpose of meditation.
and when you will start meditating while studing you will.. you will be the ONE..!! UNSTOPPABLE.
Let me know if you have some doubts..
GOOD LUCK..!!
